A Series of Webinars featuring Speakers from
Jacksonville, the UNF Community and beyond.

The Baobab tree — native to Madagascar, mainland Africa, and Australia — can live for several thousands of years and has been a symbol of strength, power, and presence. Providing shade and nourishment, the trees are also sites for community gatherings and represent resilient life under harsh conditions — a fitting symbol for people of the African diaspora. This series calls on the image of the baobab, gathering us to celebrate the power and presence of black lives and to find nourishment in the arts.
